Having identified the significance and high multiplier effect of a strong educational background in society, we have chosen to embark on a quest to build this core base for the youths. The aim is to specifically broaden the knowledge base of secondary school learners in Nigeria via the launch and sustainable running of the Obamedia Olympiad.
The journey began with Ebonyi state secondary schools.
To set a world-class standard of education with the growth of a versatile reasoning structure among students in Nigeria.
We aim to achieve this vision by;
Selection Process: Two schools will be selected from each local government area on the recommendation of the Secondary Education Board or Ministry of Education, Ebonyi State. However special consideration will be given to schools such as science schools and technical schools. Contestants shall be selected from SS1 and SS2 as a way of preparing them for higher studies in their final year.
Subject Coverage: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Computer Technology, Agricultural Science, Use of English, Technical Drawing and Economics. Questions will be streamlined to current WAEC, NECO, and UTME syllabuses. Teachers and lecturers will serve as education consults on the competition board.
Two phases’ vis-à-vis preliminary (zonal) contests and final contests as organized in the highlights below.
Preliminary Contest: Selected schools in each local government area will compete amongst themselves to produce a representative for the local government area for the inter-local government contests. Since they are 13 LGAs, six (6) LGAs will emerge in the first round. Then the others will compete with the 13th LGA to produce the 7th winner.
Final Contest: The host of executive representatives of the state education board will chair the event alongside the State NYSC coordinator.
